Tourist apartments hidden in the heart of the medieval Sassoferrato! When Paola Marconi retired from teaching she had a dream! She had always been fascinated by the atmosphere pervading the lanes of the uptown Sassoferrato Castello recalling past cultures and times. Paola had always cherished the idea to develop her own activity ther and she chose Vicolo Santa Chiara entering via Bentivoglio through a round arch sustaining suggestive Gothic three-light windows, that embellish the site. And exactly in that lane Paola has realized her dream, having renovated three mini-apartments adjoining the Santa Chiara Monastery, hence the meaning of their names :“Il sole”, “la luna” and “Le stelle”, in full respect of that Franciscan atmosphere that one can breathe there. Being a former teacher of technical education and a skilled ceramist, she has supervised personally the renovation, paying special attention to all details with her refined taste: stone brought to light, polished old brick floors, renovated old doors: everything has been enhanced to make you feel the breathe of the ancient.
All rooms have been furnished with taste and a great attention to the details, but above all with pieces found in the attic : furniture, lamp-holders, old snapshots, old but precious bed and table sheets . Everything was re-used to give the rooms a warm family atmosphere, where everything speaks of a welcoming and peaceful past.
The many Italian and foreign guests who stayed in the three apartments “il Sole” “la Luna” and “le Stelle”, in a book of hand made paper, realized by Paola herself, have left messages of appreciation for the pleasure of staying in such a well cared, place where all details remind of medieval sensations and were the mind is relieved also by the sweet melodies from the Clarisse nuns who live next door.
